Harlie's Page
Harlie is our special Catahoula baby. She was born on November 13, 2000 with congenital bilateral deafness (deaf in both ears). Harlie's deafness is not a handicap for her, the only difference in Harlie and a hearing dog is she will never be able to run off leash. At 13 weeks of age, Harlie had already mastered sit, down, come, and speak in American Sign Language. I have several dogs of my own and been around dogs my entire life, but Harlie is the smartest dog I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, she is a bright light in our lives.
This is Harlie and Me, she is about 15 weeks old now and weighs 30 pounds now. She is a very spoiled lap dog!
This is Harlie at 12 weeks, she weighed about 20 pounds here. .
This is Harlie with Pookie, a 9 week old hearing Akita puppy. They play so hard and are the best of friends. Pookie is up for adoption, but Harlie will get a new friend when she finds her own home..
This was the first day we had Harlie, she was so calm back then!
